Monarch: Songs of Beauty, Transformation, and Maternalism

Musae and Ragazzi Continuo, together with early music instrumental ensemble MUSA, will perform an eclectic program spanning many distinct styles with pieces that reference beauty, transformation, and maternalism. Some stunning highlights are the Bach motet "Singet dem Herrn, ein neues Lied" and "Nuper Rosarum Flores" by Guillaume Dufay, which was written for the construction of the Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral in Florence in 1436. The program also includes more modern works by Vytautas Miškinis, Stephen Smith, and Zae Munn. There is even a song about a woman who rebels against her cantankerous kitchen stove. We are especially excited about our collaboration with Ragazzi Continuo this season and the opportunity to play with lots of voices of varying colors.

There is no parking at Old St. Hilary's in Tiburon. Please park at the Boardwalk Shopping Center and take a shuttle to the concert. Shuttle service begins at 7:30 pm.
